A lovely day with dear friends...

Much love to Melissa, Caitlyn, Adrianne, and Jessi for joining me in my crafting endeavors today. It was delightful.

Wendy- you were truly missed. Perhaps another time?

It's a wonder I even made it to this event myself. I woke up (at the lovely summer morning hour of 10:30am) and hopped in the shower. I took a breath of sweet fig....mmmm I'm such a sucker for bath time pampering. I had just finished shaving my legs when I heard a squeak and gurgle from the pipes above me. I turned, placed the razor back on its perch, and stared at the trickling shower head.

Oh. Noes.

After a few exasperating, soapy moments fussing with the faucet, I yelled for my siblings and demanded an explanation. "I'm covered in soapsuds with shampoo in my hair! Where did the water go?" Between giggles (as my plight was rather amusing to them), I discovered that some men were working on the sprinklers outside and had accidentally cut the wrong pipe, thus prompting them to turn off the water in the entire house.

Oh yes...the entire house. So even utilizing a bathroom sink to rinse off the suds was out of the question. I sent my sister to ask the men how long it would be before the water came back on. They didn't know. I contemplated wrapping my soggy self in towels and running to the neighbor's house...or perhaps jumping in the pool and praying no one would see.

Half an hour later, I sat shivering on the bathtub floor. My mother's arm burst through the shower curtain holding a jug of water. I shrieked. She jumped. "Geeez. I just melted some ice for you."

I shuddered. "Ice....water?" I took the jug and looked at the faucet. I could dowse myself in bitterly cold water and be done with it, or wait until the water came back on and hope it happened soon. I asked what time it was. I had an hour before my friends were to arrive. I winced and began to pour.

2 minutes later....water was back.

Good grief. This sounds like something that would happen to me!
And the ending was hilarious. :]

And I really really really (really) hope another crafting day will happen, and that I will be able to participate.
